Dover Transport Museum
About The Dover Transport Museum
The Dover Transport Museum was formed in 1980. There has been three other museum sites but now a site purchased with lottery funds and funds given by many generous local businesses and people has given us a permanent home where the past, present and future are together. Dover Transport Museum has a fascinating collection of vintage transport and transport models of all types. Very special are: one of the first American lorries supplied to the British Army in WW1; our beautifully restored Romany Caravan; an Aveling & Porter steam roller, a genuine charabanc and impressive ship models. Our two large exhibition halls have recreated old Dover street scenes that will stir the memories of many older visitors and give younger ones a glimpse of how things used to be. Dover Transport Museum is a charitable trust run by members of the Dover Transport Museum Society. *Image is not necessarily one of the museum.
