About The Hamilton District Museum
Housed in a former coaching inn, this museum boasts a local historic interests collection and transport collection. In 1975, Gavin Walker (Author) published a small 28 page booklet 'Transport And Farm Equipment In Hamilton District Museum' which was produced for Hamilton District Museum, Lanarkshire Scotland [ISBN-13: 978-0-9501983-4-7 / 9780950198347]. The booklet contains pictures and drawings of horse drawn carriages from the 18th and 19th centuries and photographs of motor vehicles at the Museum from the 19th and 20th centuries. The Museum houses a fine example of an inverted vertical single cylinder 'bottle-frame' Steam Engine by Marshall Sons & Co Ltd of Gainsborough, also a horizontal single cylinder steam engine (circa 1900s) from Stroud's Indstrial Company George Waller and Co. *Image is not necessarily one of the museum.
